Something New

There's something about the word, "new", that brings a feeling of excitement.  It can be a life changing event like a new job or a new baby.  It can be a big item purchase like a new house or car.  Or something simple like a new package of pretty paper plates, or a new box of crayons.  Even something old that is "new to you" can be exciting.   Advertisers capitalize on this word and offer used items that are "like new" and artificial fragrances with a "new car" scent.

Some new things that involve life changes can leave us with feelings of dread or uncertainty.   But as we embark upon this New Year, we can face each new day, new season, and new mountain or valley in our lives with the assurance that "Great is HIS Faithfulness, and HIS Mercies are NEW every morning." (Lamentations 3:22-24)
